Oregon State University design alumni.

Danielle is an Oregon State University spring 2023 graduate. She graduated with a B.S. in apparel design and merchandising management. Danielle is an aspiring designer and has experience in MS Office, Adobe programs, sewing, the design process, and VStitcher.

She currently works as a Childcare Provider at A Smart Start Preschool & Daycare. Due to personal circumstances, she chose to step away from pursuing work in her field right after graduation. During that time, she gained substantial personal growth and perspective, and she is now in a strong position to fully focus on opportunities that align with her degree. She has stayed active with her sewing skills throughout this period and has continued designing personal projects.

As a daycare provider, she constantly came up with creative ways to engage children through crafts, colors, and playful environments. That experience sharpened her eye for design, color theory, and functionality, which directly informs her approach to apparel design. In addition, working in daycare taught her how to manage competing priorities with patience and precision—skills that are essential in the fast-paced world of design and production.

Although she has worked as a daycare provider, her passion for apparel design has remained at the core of her professional goals, consistently influencing the way she thinks creatively and approaches problem-solving.
